Sparewise

Terms of use

In plain words: Sparewise is free, it is provided as is, and it changes nothing on your PC unless you choose it. The full legal text is the license; if this page and the license differ, the license applies. By installing or using Sparewise you accept these terms; if you do not agree, do not install or use it.

You decide every change

Sparewise measures, explains and proposes. Files, programs and settings change only when you confirm a change, or when you yourself turned on a setting that allows it (autopilot, or letting AI agents apply changes that can be undone). Read what a change will do before you confirm it.

No promises

Sparewise is provided as is, without any warranty. Sizes, estimates, verdicts and explanations can be wrong or out of date. Words such as "safe", "rebuilds itself" or "can be put back" describe how Sparewise is designed to work; they are not guarantees. Items in the Recycle Bin or set aside can be removed for good by Windows, by emptying the Recycle Bin, or when their holding time ends.

Keep backups

You are responsible for keeping backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. No storage tool replaces a backup.

No liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Sparewise developer is not liable for any loss or damage from using Sparewise, including lost data, files, programs, settings or time. Where the law does not allow that to be excluded, liability is limited to what you paid, which for this free app is nothing. Rights your local law gives you that cannot be removed by agreement are not affected.

Other programs and AI agents

Commands Sparewise shows for other programs (docker, npm, winget, ollama and others) run those programs under their own terms when you choose to run them. AI assistants you connect act on your instructions and your settings; the Sparewise developer is not responsible for what they do.

Changes

The app is free today. Future versions may be offered on different terms; a version you already have keeps the terms it came with. These terms may be updated; the date below shows the latest change.

Information, not advice

What Sparewise shows, including anything an AI model suggests, is general information to help you decide. It is not professional advice; do not rely on it alone.

Not for critical systems

Sparewise is not meant for systems where a lost file or a wrong result could cause injury or serious loss, such as medical, safety, industrial or production servers. Use it there entirely at your own risk.

Your computers, your responsibility

Use Sparewise only on computers you own or are allowed to manage. If someone else, such as an employer, makes a claim because of how you used it, you are responsible for that claim, as far as the law allows. Any claim about Sparewise must be made within one year, where the law allows a limit.

Ending and the rest

You can stop at any time by uninstalling Sparewise. The license also ends if its terms are broken. If one part of the terms cannot be enforced where you live, the rest still applies. If you accept for an organisation, you confirm you may do so for it.
